About the project
Debt Free Justice is an organization empowering Black communities in the U.S. to become more politically active and advocate for systemic change. Following years of social inequities and racial tensions, the organization wanted to create a clear, accessible, and visually engaging campaign that explained how to propose a law and get a bill approved.
FLUC created a fully animated educational video that walked viewers through the legislative process in a friendly, empowering way. The visuals were designed in Photoshop using textured brushes and layered styles to inject warmth, dynamism, and creativity into an otherwise complex topic. All animations were produced in After Effects for fluid, purposeful storytelling.

Our process
The goal was to turn a complex and intimidating process: writing and submitting a bill, into a clear, engaging visual guide for Black communities seeking political empowerment. FLUC approached this by creating a vibrant, textured visual style using layered Photoshop illustrations and brushes, resulting in a warm and approachable aesthetic. These assets were animated in After Effects to add clarity, rhythm, and flow to the step-by-step legislative walkthrough.
The project began with close collaboration with Debt Free Justice to simplify the legislative process into clear, digestible stages. Visual assets were then designed in Photoshop using textures and brushes to achieve a handcrafted, energetic feel aligned with the campaign’s empowering tone.
The illustrations were animated in After Effects using expressive motion, purposeful transitions, and clear visual metaphors. Careful attention was given to story and pacing to ensure the explanation remained smooth and easy to follow. The final result was a complete animated walkthrough optimized for social platforms and community workshops.
